I love updating older homes to modernize while still keeping in touches of old world charm…and I especially love the brownstone-ish homes of Prospect Hill. So this renovation was close to my heart for clients I had previously done their kitchen. The custom niches @builtwithvision did for us with this beautiful Spanish tile is my favorite moment. But you could argue it could also be the black tub on top of black sliced pebbles accented with gold fixtures that makes this bathroom so special. Client wanted a classic white kitchen - which is always beautiful -but of course we had to add something special. We added a custom arched pantry door and painted it a deep gray-blue (one shade lighter and a couple shades bluer than the island) and it is the perfect touch.

To warm up our ultra-modern kitchen renovation we added lots of texture with this polished “stars and cross” backsplash (love it so much!) and a warm stained wood island. Hints of gold in the hardware and the interior of these custom hammered black pendant lights add just the right amount of bling and warmth as well. Thank you @meyerbrothersandsons78 for the beautiful custom cabinetry and expert install.

We converted an old storage room into a pool mudroom/laundry room and love how it turned out! Scroll for the BEFORE pic to see the transformation. This new mudroom fits this older home in Indian Hill perfectly (thanks to the new slate floors) while still feeling fresh and updated (scroll for more pics and the BEFORE). We did a mix of closed cabinetry (for brooms, craft supplies, etc) and open bench for coats and backpacks. Kraftmaid Bonsai is the most beautiful shade of green especially against all the gold hardware and lights. But by far my favorite detail is the cabinet cutouts we did. Thank you to @builtwithvision for taking my vision and making it a reality - no matter how complicated the ask!

Family room refresh and fireplace overhaul (scroll for BEFORE pic). Removed carpet, new paint, new furniture and completely changed fireplace. New trim, new marble surround and hearth and new mantel. Not to mention replaced built-in doors.

We went with a more classic look in the primary bathroom with a mix of whites, soft blacks and a beautiful gray-green herringbone feature wall behind the tub. But definitely my favorite feature are the wall mounted vanity faucets backed by the soapstone quartz backsplash.

Continuing with the theme we did a moody, sexy leopard guest bathroom in this remodel. The mix of different green and teal tones against the gold fixtures adds the glam. The concrete tile bathroom floor, marble shower floor and wood stained vanity create balance with natural elements. So fun to do a moody bathroom - I couldn’t wait until glass was installed.

It’s the little touches that add warmth and interest in an all white kitchen: accent tile such as the pretty, subtle patterned tile we used here, staged wood shelves with scatterings of plants to add life and color, beautiful sconces for shine and interest and wood toned counter stools with leather accents.

Waiting on 7 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 fireplaces, and 2 mudroom renovations to come to completion - nearly there on all. But the long arc of these projects is so hard for an impatient person like me. So, in the interim, I’m reposting one of my favorite before and afters from a bathroom renovation I did a couple years ago in historic Prospect Hill. Exposing the brick and hanging pendant lights from 10’ high ceilings made such an impact! Another one in same neighborhood in planning stages - love that area❤️

Marble hearth, new more modern beveled fireplace surround, new wrap around stained wood mantle and best feature…. beautiful Amalfi grasscloth from Serena & Lily. Gale and Evelyn from PapersbyBlondie came through again on a perfect wallpaper install. Thank you @galemancini .
